Reflections on the Lake

I’m back here at the lake, Mom,
Where we talked and laughed for hours.
It’s not the same without you here.
It’s hard every day, but not all the time.

Everyone says I have your heart
And thankfully your good looks too.
All those nice baskets and backpacks we made -
You got Woman of the Year in our small town.
I loved you so much. Everyone loved you.

It feels like just yesterday we were here at sunset,
With pink and orange reflecting on the water.
I felt so safe when you held me in your arms here.

Embraced by the warm breeze here with you
At this moment, I know a bit what Heaven is like.

The Reasons I Love the Flag

''I pledge Allegiance to the flag'' Have you ever stopped and wondered what you are
pledging your allegiance to? The flag is not just some piece of cloth made by Betsy
Ross. The United States flag is special because it is a symbol of what my country
means to me.
The American flag has many visible symbols. In Texas, stars have always been a big
deal for us in ''The Lone Star State'' Speaking of stars, there are 50 stars on the flag
that represent the 50 states of the union, and the stripes stand for the original 13
Colonies. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well: red signifies hardiness and
courage, white represents purity and innocence, and blue stands for vigilance,
perseverance, and justice.
The American flag as a whole is also a symbol for freedom because the
amendments grant rights regardless of your religion, gender, or ethnicity. The flag
represents Integrity because America is dependable, and third world countries know we
have their backs. The flag also exemplifies justice with a sense of respect because the
laws are designed for right to prevail over wrong and protect the innocent.
 The American justice
system has taken me out of the situation I was in and put me on a better path. If it
wasn’t for our justice system you would not be reading my essay right now. Because I
am out of that bad situation, I’m finally in a fabulous home, school, and family. Life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – America truly gives these to me. And that is why I
love the American flag so much.
The American flag waves proudly for our country. When you see it flying through the
sky think of all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into making America the great
nation it is. The next time you see the flag soaring through the sky reflect on what its
symbols mean to you.

Who I Am

Who am I? Well, I really love writing poems, and I have been entering a lot of contests. I also have an amazing editor my teacher. Writing has always been a big part of my life, and I'm not good at telling my feeling, but there is no pressure when it comes to writing.

I'm will be writing about anything and everything. Before I write any more I'm going to tell you more about myself. I am a really big nerd, and I love books and movies such as, Harry Potter and anime, as well as cooking. I'm also show an interest in arts such as theater, singing, and music. I have three very close friends that attend the same Christian school I do, where our relationship with God becomes stronger. I'm also in theater class with one of my close friends. My favorite school subject is math, where I hoping to be an architect or doctor someday.

More about my family and upbringing.  I have a really big family, and I am in the middle. I look exactly like my mom, and I have her blonde hair and blue eyes. I believe I have grown a lot, involving maturity, and have blossomed in to my life and some of my hobbies. I hope you like my blog.
